The Valencia Half Marathon is one of the great draws of the city's Running Day. It's fast, it's flat and it crosses the best of the city: from the green Turia riverbed to the historic centre, finishing beside the City of Arts and Sciences.

Whether you're running it or reliving the course you already ran, this guide explains where it goes, what its profile looks like and what you'll find in each section.

Europe's fastest half marathon

The Valencia Half Marathon shares the elite DNA of the marathon: a flat course, Platinum organisation and a route designed to the millimetre for fast running. It's no accident that world records for the distance have been set here. If you ran the Valencia half, you ran one of the fastest courses on the planet.

The Turia and the historic centre

Much of the route runs alongside the Turia Gardens, the old riverbed turned into a park, and through the city's historic centre: Town Hall Square, the Modernista Estación del Norte and the streets where Valencian crowds fill every metre with cheers.

Finish in the City of Running

The finish comes in the modern part of Valencia, with the City of Arts and Sciences marking the skyline. Crossing the line of the Valencia half means finishing in the city that turned running into a way of life.

What is the Valencia Half Marathon elevation profile like?

The profile is practically flat, with no climbs anywhere on the course. That absence of elevation, October's cool weather and the fast asphalt make the Valencia half one of the best places in Europe to set a 21 km personal best.

When is the Valencia Half Marathon?
